ST.JOSEPH’S TECHNO SACHOOL achieves educational excellence through use of an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning to help prepare students for the 21st century. This century is technology driven, globally networked, and requires a work force that can solve problems and think critically and creatively. Inquiry-based learning stresses skill development and nurtures thinking habits that enable our students to be life-long learners.
Inquiry-based classrooms are filled with students who collaborate and cooperate, take calculated risks, exhibit curiosity, observe critically, value questions, make connections, and propose explanations. These students communicate in a multitude of ways, self-evaluate, and reflect on their learning. The cornerstone of inquiry-based learning is teachers and students constantly . Instruction is differentiated and assessment methods are varied to meet the needs of our students. Concepts are developed using a variety of strategies. Creative thinking is valued and encouraged through the use of open-ended questions and performance tasks.
Need for Value
Moral awareness should be endorsed to orient the progress in science & technology towards the welfare of mankind.Common values should be re-discovered to unite human beings with the general decline of traditional values.
The students might face more complicated decision making situations about issues involving values. They should be helped in developing the ability to make proper choices in such situations through value education.
Expected Schoolwide Learning Result
Each student’s achievements are continually assessed. Teachers use a variety of assessment techniques including testing for knowledge and skills, observations, portfolios of student’s work and analysis of book, project and practical work.
Attitude, learning skills, social relationships and effort are considered equally important when looking at the overall development of the child.
